As the journey of BBL 2019-20 progresses into its business end, Brisbane
Heat and Sydney Sixers lock horns in Match 49 of the competition.
Brisbane Heat have had a mediocre campaign so far this season in online fantasy games. The Chris
Lynn-led side has amassed 10 points by winning five out of eleven matches this
season. Heat, who are currently poised sixth in the points table, will be eager
to break into the top half of the list. In their previous match against
Melbourne Renegades, Heat’s batting force was abysmal as they suffered a
collapse while chasing down the target. Chasing a target of 165 runs, Chris
Lynn and Co. was decimated by Renegades’ bowling force as they could gather
only 120 runs on the board.
Apart from openers Sam Heazlett and Chris Lynn, who stitched 84-run partnership
stand, no other batsman stayed in the middle for a prolonged period of time.
Ben Laughlin scalped three wickets and emerged as the top performer among
Heat’s bowling unit in fantasy cricket.
He was also assisted by Ben Cutting, who scalped two vital wickets. Heat would
be eager to retaliate and clinch crucial points against Sydney Sixers to move
up the points table.
Sydney Sixers, on the other hand, have delivered impressive performances
this season and are currently sitting second in the points table. Sixers have
won seven out of 12 encounters so far this season and have gathered 15 points.
Sixers’ previous match against Melbourne Stars was a rain-marred affair where
Moises Henriques and Co cruised to a 21-run victory.
Skipper Henriques hogged the attention by smashing 92 runs off just 31
deliveries to steer his side to a competitive total of 143 runs. In reply,
Melbourne Stars could only gather 125 runs on the board due to impressive
bowling display from the Sixers’ bowling trio of Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Lyon and
Tom Curran. Sixers will be aiming to consolidate their position by picking up a
win against Heat.
Pitch and Conditions
In the three matches hosted by the Gabba this season, no team has touched
the 200-run mark. Brisbane Heat will be aiming to reverse the batting debacle
of their previous match on this wicket. The weather is expected to be mostly
sunny with temperature ranging around 33 degrees Celcius, according to
Accuweather. There are no chances of rain whatsoever to intervene in the match.

Brisbane Heat is equipped with many explosive batsmen in their batting
arsenal. Along with Chris Lynn and AB de Villiers, Marnus Labuschagne’s
addition will also bolster their batting line-up. Matt Renshaw and Ben Cutting
has also delivered impressive performances this season. Josh Lalor, James
Pattinson and Mujeeb Ur Rahman will be steering Heat’s bowling attack.

All eyes will be on skipper Moises Henriques to replicate the blistering
knock of his last match. Philippe and Daniel Hughes will also be aiming to
propel Sixers to an explosive start. Sixers’ bowling force will be steered by
the likes of Tom Curran, Nathan Lyon and Ben Dwarshuis in fantasy match prediction. Youngster Tom Curran
has delivered stellar performances for Sixers this season and has picked up
eight wickets in his last five matches. Moreover, the return of Steve Smith in
the squad will bolster Sixers’ squad immensely.
